My name is Iasa, which somewhere in Africa means "rice and fish". It's also the name of a tiny beach in Papua New Guinea. In my home country (I'm Brazilian), it means "the Queen of Everything". Ok, that's not true, but you'd never know since no one else is called Iasa, which gives me the right to come up with whatever meaning and call it mine. Or maybe not?

There was a girl called Iasa, and she surely deserved it.

My name is Iasa, which somewhere in Africa means "rice and fish".

I'm a creative writer and comms strategist based in Barcelona. Since I moved here seven years ago, I finished two masters (Publishing and Cultural Communications), started a PhD on collective creation – and dropped it after two years because I was working so much. I hope I can get on that again sometime. My favourite work experience was to manage the content creation & strategy for erotic filmmaker Erika Lust. My less favourite work was copywriting for a travel blog because 99% of it was SEO and 1% creativity. I am a strong enthusiast of everything that has to do with language, narrative and people. If you are too, I would love to have a chat 🙂
